Hypnosis to relieve the pain of cancer

Increasingly used in recent times, are the advanced techniques of hypnosis performed by doctors specializing in this area to calm the intense pain caused by cancer and to give to patients with this devastating disease, a life a little 'more serene.

In support of these advanced techniques is Liossia Christina, a teacher’s University of Wales in Wales. Liossia claims that hypnosis has a high therapeutic potential still not yet fully exploited. Hypnosis, he says, has already been used to stop smoking, lose weight or to combat anxiety and phobias and will be used increasingly in years to come.

We have the scientific evidence says the professor, that hypnosis helps to soothe depression, nausea, vomiting and severe pain caused by cancer, we also found, through research, that hypnosis might prolong life for patients suffering from the disease, but for now we cannot prove it scientifically.

The Liossia, then, with the theme discussed at the annual conference of the British Association for the Association of Science, and says that hypnosis is very important to influence the immune system. Studying children with cancer, it was discovered that those who had been hypnotized before, with the hiring of a local anesthetic, has felt much less pain during surgery, patients who were not hypnotized.

From this, apart from the assertion of Professor John Gruzelier, from Imperial College London, using the advanced technique of "brain-imaging that shows brain activity step by step, believes that when the brain is under hypnosis, there are various changes in its interior and that these changes may help to understand what happens when one is hypnotized and why the brain does all that is asked from the outside.
