3D TV Without Glasses

For many the most off putting thing about 3D TV is the glasses.  There are copmplaints that they cause headaches, eyestrain, nausea but I think the worst problem with 3D glasses. If we all had 3D TVs in our homes, how many glasses would we buy, what when people come round?  What if you lost a pair? The glasses are expesive to renew costing from £50 upwards. Glasses are needed because in order to see things in 3D each eye must see a slightly different picture. This is done in the real world by your eyes being spaced apart so each eye has its own slightly different view. The brain then puts the two pictures together to form one 3D image that has depth to it.

Nintendo 3DS Doesn't Need Glasses, and has excellent 3D Graphics.  This works for the handheld gaming device because you can hold the device directly in front of you and easily adjust the horizontal angle until the effect renders.

Several compainis are trying to change the problem attempting to bypass the 3D glasses issue with a variety of technologies, each usually referred to as "auto-stereoscopic.".

The first no-glasses-required 3D TV's are already on the market in China. Working on what is known as the  "lenticular" system is popular in all the 3D systems with no glasses. They are expensive to produce, selling  for about $20,000. this is how they work,  there are actually eight lenses on the screen itself. Depending on where you stand in relation to the TV, you see only a few of those perspectives. This "lenticular" system is popular in all the 3D systems with no glasses.  The 3D aspect doesn't pop out quite as much as it does with the 3D glasses but its still really good.

If you are thinking of buying a 3D TV at the moment and you will struggle because they are costly if you can wait a few months the 3D TV's with glasses they will go down in price when the new latest technology non glasses 3D TV's become available in the UK, which will only be a matter of a few months.

If you want to look at the 3D TV's which are available and cheap at the moment click on our technology link on the left at http://www.spiritzodiacsigns.co.uk/#/2012-predictions/4544601005  Especially if you need a good TV bargain now.

If you like to keep up with the latest technology I'm sure it won't be long before you can buy a 3D TV without the need for glasses.

TCL & Samsung are two of the companies who have the TV's available in China but at the moment they are only for commercial use, they have not yet announced when they will be available for home use.

Unbreakable (Movie Review)

One of the best thrillers of 2000, Unbreakable is writer/director M. Knight Shyamalan's follow up production to the 1998 blockbuster The Sixth Sense. Although not as phenomenally successful as that film, Unbreakable is nonetheless a memorable and suspense ridden picture certain to entertain. Shyamalan uses a unique comic book format to weave a tale of a superhero who fails to realize his own powers. But audiences won't confuse Unbreakable with Spiderman or Superman. The film isn't as one-dimensional with its characters, and the employment of special effects is not a focal point of the film. Instead, Unbreakable remains more of a mystery, thriller combination, and one that works well...

Security Guard David Dunn (Bruce Willis) makes headlines as the sole survivor of a massive train wreck which kills 130+ passengers. But not only does David survive the wreck, he emerges from the wreckage without a single scratch. Soon after, David is approached by Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), owner of a comic book art gallery and expert on the world of comics. Elijah suffers from a genetic disease which causes his bones to be extremely brittle. Confined in his home, Elijah's mother bought him comic books throughout his youth. Believing the comics to be a modern form of ancient storytelling describing the lives of real people of super-human abilities, Elijah postulates that David is one such person.

The fanatical comic book lover produces evidence of David's survival of a car wreck twenty years earlier, his survival on the train, and his injury-free days as a star football player. As the polar-opposite of David, Elijah has been in search of such a person for his entire life. Now, he must convince David that he holds the aforementioned powers. As David comes to believe he holds the power of the 'unbreakable', he also develops an awareness of a special sense which gives him the ability to tell if someone has done, or is about to do, something sinister. As David comes to appreciate his special powers, the world around him crystallizes with a terrifying clarity...

Featuring one of the better surprise endings of the decade, Unbreakable is one of the reasons Shyamalan's reputation has risen to such a lofty position in the world of film. Well-written and well-directed, M. Knight Shyamalan creates a brilliant follow up to The Sixth Sense with the dark and mysterious Unbreakable. Samuel L. Jackson plays his part well, employing the use of his penetrating stare and authoritative voice for maximum effect. Bruce Willis stars again in a role he knows well - that of the hero.

Although it lacked the commercial success and Academy Award speculation of its forerunner, Unbreakable is nevertheless an entertaining film. Weaving a strange and exotic tale of two men who lead opposite lives in the physical realm, it makes deft use of cinematography and dripping suspense to leave its audience perched on the edge of curiosity. As a result, Unbreakable made a place for itself among the best films of 2000, and it definitely ranks as a must-see film...

Celiac Disease and a Gluten Free Diet

Each year, thousands of people are diagnosed with celiac disease. This is an autoimmune disorder that affects the small intestine. This disorder is usually genetic, and affects more than one percent of people. The symptoms can include diarrhea, fatigue, vomiting, bloating, and mouth ulcers. Celiac disease causes the small intestine to become inflamed when gluten is present in the patient's system. This in turn causes the patient to suffer from malabsorption, which means that their body is not able to absorb the necessary nutrients needed for optimal health. To date, the only treatment effective in treating the effects of this disease is a gluten free diet.

A gluten free diet is one that is completely void of ingredients that are derived from foods containing gluten, including wheat, barley, rye, and oats. Many people who opt to begin a diet without gluten as part of their treatment for celiac disease find it can be difficult to find packaged foods that do not contain gluten. Often times, even those foods with labels declaring them to be gluten-less contain this ingredient. For this reason, many decide to cook most of their own food to ensure than no gluten is included.

When cooking without gluten, there are many ingredients that must be substituted. For example, wheat flour cannot be used, as it contains gluten. However, wheat flour can be substituted with brown rice or sweet rice flour. Karo corn syrup can also be substituted in many recipes that call for sweetener. There are many websites available that offer gluten-less recipes at no cost to the user. Many magazines containing helpful hints, ideas, and recipes are also available for those attempting a gluten free diet. Almost any ingredient containing gluten can be substituted for one that does not. "No gluten" recipes are becoming increasingly popular as the number of people diagnosed with celiac disease grows.

Alzheimer’s Disease Prevention and Treatment

Alzheimer's Disease cases have been rapidly increasing over the last half century, and are currently the seventh leading cause of death in America. Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia and affects our ability to form memories, communicate and perform the most common daily tasks. Fifty years ago, Alzheimer's Disease was virtually unknown to medical science, yet today we see a skyrocketing incidence of this devastating affliction. While there is a genetic component to the disease, it is largely the result of lifestyle, poor diet and environmental factors which cause systemic inflammation in the body.

Alzheimer's Disease Caused by Brain Inflammation

The Standard American Diet is known to promote a low grade inflammation throughout the body, and is linked with heart disease, stroke and cancer. We can add Alzheimer's Disease to the list, as the brain is susceptible to the ravages of inflammatory chemicals which are released into the blood as a result of poor diet and environmental assault.

The disease is characterized by the accumulation of a protein known as beta amyloid which blocks communications between the neuron's synapses. Normally the brain is able to break down the amyloid plaques so they can be removed properly, but this function becomes limited as inflammation affects the normal plaque clearance process in the brain.

Alzheimer's was a very rare condition prior to 1950. Our diet did not include all the refined, processed and fried foods. Meals were made at home from natural ingredients including plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and we were not continually exposed to a barrage of unhealthy chemicals and pollutants in our homes and the environment.

Anti-Aging Formula Increases Brain Synapse Formation

Scientists have been working feverishly on drugs and natural nutraceuticals which may have an impact on the development and progression of Alzheimer's Disease. There are several drugs which have been approved for management of the disease, but they are at best palliative. Recent studies have demonstrated that a specially formulated cocktail consisting of uridine, choline and the Omega-3 fatty acid DHA helped the brain to form new synapses for communication between neurons.

DHA is especially important for brain health, as more than half of the brain cell membranes are composed of the fat. When DHA is in short supply in the blood, other inferior fats must be used for the construction process resulting in a cell which cannot function optimally.

Also important to the formula for synapse development in the brain are the B Vitamins, especially the B-12 derivative Methylcobalamin which provides the electrical charge that cause the synapse to fire. This is an important finding for those wishing to prevent and even treat Alzheimer's Disease since the more healthy synapses which exist in the brain, the better we can process, store and manipulate information and memories.

Targeted Supplements Inhibit Plaque Formation

The most exciting research involves two critical nutrients, which when combined have been shown to reduce the amount of beta amyloid plaque formation in the brain. Resveratrol and Circumin when taken together can reduce plaque deposits. While there is controversy as to whether beta amyloid protein is the cause or effect of Alzheimer's Disease, there is little argument that clearing this sticky substance from the brain is the key to prevention and even treatment.

Resveratrol is an extract from the skins of red grapes which has the ability to break apart amyloid deposits. Circumin is a natural component of the spice curry, and is a powerful antioxidant. Working synergistically with Resveratrol, the two provide a powerful punch to plaque formation, and given their excellent safety record, should be a part of every dietary program to prevent Alzheimer's Disease.

Lifestyle has been shown to be a key component in the development of Alzheimer's Disease. Diet and our environment have changed dramatically over the past decades, and are the primary cause of the rampant increase in the disease. Drug manufacturers are working hard to find the 'magic bullet' which will cure this disease, yet the best tools we have for prevention are realized by following a healthy diet, careful monitoring of the chemical environment to which we are subjected each day and supplementing with a targeted group of nutraceuticals which are essential to healthy brain function.

A Guide to Menopause Treatment

Menopause is a very tough transition time in any woman's life, and during this natural process, ovaries stop making the eggs, the body produces less progesterone and estrogen, and monthly cycles becomes less frequent, ultimately coming to an end. If a woman does not get periods for 12 months in a row, and there is no other medical cause for it such as illness or pregnancy, she has reached menopause.

Menopause usually happens after the age of 45, and it is beneficial to get enough information about it by talking to your doctor regarding symptoms that might be of concern so that you can get the right treatment at the right time. Termination of periods is the only common symptom of menopause, and for each woman, the experience of going through this phase is different.

Some of the most commonly experienced menopausal symptoms include change in the period pattern, vaginal dryness, hair loss, hot flashes, trouble sleeping through the night, trouble focusing, crying spells, flushed complexion, fuzzy thinking, weight gain, diaphoresis, breast tenderness, irritability, and forgetfulness. Certain menopausal symptoms can be treated by using herbal or other plant-based products such as soy in the form of powder or pill, or other sources of phytoestrogens such as black cohosh, dong quai, valelrian root and wild yam.

If used properly, menopausal hormone therapy can be quite useful in relieving the moderate to severe symptoms of menopause and also prevent the bone loss. MHT helps menopausal women by reducing hot flashes and night sweats, treats vaginal symptoms such as dryness and discomfort, increases the level of hormones progesterone and estrogen, eases mood swings and also slows down bone loss, but it may also increase the risk of certain medical conditions such as stroke, breast cancer and heart disease.

Menopause is not a disease and does not require any definitive treatment or cure. Using vitamin E, SSRI drugs, megestrol acetate, and neurontin for hot flashes, vaginal moisturizers, low dose vaginal estrogen ring, water-soluble lubricants and estrogen by mouth for dry vagina and painful intercourse, counseling, estrogen and SSRI drugs for depression and mood swings, and raloxifene, bisphosphonates, vitamin D, calcitonin, estrogen, and tamoxifen for bone loss during menopause have been quite helpful to alleviate the symptoms.

So far, estrogen has been the most effective treatment for hot flashes, but, the risks and benefits associated with this therapy need to be carefully considered. Meditation, massage, relaxation therapy, and acupuncture are few effective alternative therapies that can relieve symptoms of menopause, and for women who cannot take hormonal therapy due to its side-effect, these therapies are life-savers.

CFD Trading and Spread Betting: FTSE perks up, but struggles to find momentum

Giles Watts, Head of Equities at spread betting provider City Index (http://www.cityindex.co.uk/), takes a look at the financial activity shaping the markets on 15th April 2011. Headlines include investors remaining cautious as equity markets traded marginally better and hedge fund manager Man Group posting 3 percent gains. Investors remained cautious in early trading as equity markets traded marginally better. Strength in retailers and real estate helped keep the FTSE in the blue, whilst miners and banks weighed on the index. By mid-morning the FTSE was trading 12 points better at 5975, but was struggling to find momentum. Top of the leader-board was hedge fund manager Man Group; posting 3% gains after Merrill Lynch moved them onto their Europe One List. Real Estate giant British Land posted 2.5% gains as the sector was lifted by a positive note from JPMorgan. Investors were also buyers of retailers, as John Lewis's Waitrose reported strong weekly sales numbers. Solid updates from a bell weather of the high street proved enough to drive listed retailers better, Next and M&S both featured on the winners list. Trader optimism didn't extend however to the heavyweight Banks and Miners, crucially weighing on any FTSE advance. Banks continue to come under pressure as sovereign debt issues remain, particular in the light of Moody's recent downgrade in Ireland. Barclays and RBS all traded to new monthly lows. The mining sector conspired to taint the FTSE as strong first-quarter GDP growth and high inflation from China continue to fuel concern that further fiscal tightening will be required. Traders remain nervous as US reporting season takes hold, signs of improving profit are encouraging, but with stuttering growth a likely prospect, it remains likely that Investors will take a cautious approach to investment as we head towards Easter. Muscle Diseases

Muscle is better known for its ability to flex and give shape to a body. Like any other part of the body, muscles too are prone to diseases. Muscle Diseases, like any other kind of disease and infection, can affect anybody. It can even make a person physically disabled. The Muscle Diseases often make the person weak. The person suffering from Muscle Diseases is under constant pain and feels weakness in the muscles. He or she finds it difficult to walk, sit and get up, climb, run, lift or carry, or move the limbs. In most cases, progressive muscle wasting followed by contraction of muscles takes place.

Muscle Diseases vary in their conditions and require different types of treatment. While some treatments respond to medicine, the others have 'only' a chance of improvement. Muscle Diseases may be caused due to various reasons. Some Muscle Diseases are genetic. These are caused due to defective genes in the body. Such diseases are genetic disorders that can make the individual permanently disabled, physically.

Genetic Muscle Diseases often need not be inherited from a parent with a family history of genetic disorder. This can happen spontaneously, due to gene abnormality. These diseases may affect the eyes, cause muscle wasting and even paralysis. The most well-known disease of the muscle occurring genetically is Muscular Dystrophy, or muscle-wasting disease. This is caused by the error in the gene and can affect anybody at any age. It is also known to affect the heart in some cases.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a muscle-wasting disease, affects only boys, unlike muscular dystrophy. There are other diseases that are non-genetic Muscle Diseases. These are acquired gradually and not caused genetically. These diseases may be caused by body's own immune system, some kind of hormonal imbalance or even a disorder caused by the intake of medicines.

One such acquired disease is the inflammatory Muscle Disease, where the immune system of the body injures its own muscles. There are the metabolic Muscle Diseases, which may not be as common as the other Muscle Diseases. But once affected it has very little chance of recovery. These are caused by deficiencies in the enzymes. The symptoms begin with weakness of the muscles, until the condition of the ailing person deteriorates. For instance, the Carbohydrate-Processing Disorders is a type of metabolic disease where the breakdown of glycogen or glucose is affected.
